Walking distance from the Junction Commuter Rail stop and thoughtfully maintained by the same owners for a lifetime, this sun-filled southeast facing 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath Colonial sits proudly at the top of a cul de sac, where it has watched over generations of children learning to ride bikes.
Completely modern and updated for today’s needs, this home still retains the charm homes built in Needham in the 1930s are known for: built-in cabinets, shelves, and window seat; a beautiful working fireplace with mantel, hardwood floors, and crown moldings. The kitchen with granite breakfast bar has ample cabinet and counter space, stainless steel appliances installed in 2020, skylights and a bay window that looks out across the gorgeous backyard, frequented by a surprising variety and number of songbirds. Other amenities include central AC, natural gas heating and hot water systems, attached one car garage and driveway parking for 4 cars.
The expansive manicured backyard features a gently sloping irrigated lawn, perfect for setting up a game of badminton or a slip n slide, as well as mature flowering shrubs and trees, an area of raised beds for gardening, a rock garden, crabapple tree and rows of perennial flowers that put on a display every Spring. The enormous stone patio was installed in 2021, as well as the path from the driveway and exterior lighting. Fenced in except for a small section by the driveway, with tall Hemlock hedges offering privacy for humans and sanctuary for hummingbirds, this yard is both a peaceful oasis and the perfect setting for a bbq with friends.
The primary suite with skylight, cathedral ceiling, built-ins and recently updated bath sits at the rear right of the house, totally private while still sharing a floor with the remaining 3 bedrooms and family bath. Likewise the first floor office/den is located off the living room on the left side of the home, ideal for working without distraction. The finished basement is the perfect spot for a home gym or rec room for older kids on one side, with laundry, storage,
and a handyman/classic workbench on the other.
Location, light, privacy and function – this house truly has it all!
